You have no idea--well, some idea--how weird it is to be reading this while I am on a tech call myself. ^_^

I may end up going somewhere with this. I have enough of a premise that I might be able to expand it. This may turn into Chapters One and Two of a longer work, once they've been buffed out. If nothing else, it's a fun thought experiment. Glad you enjoyed it!

Interesting. I had to read quite a way into the story before I figured out the story behind the story. Therians taking medication to "freeze" in human form. That is a nice new twist.

Not to those outside the profession, really. Then again, most things are like that. Even having learned how combustion engines work, as far as I know or care, the auto mechanic is using a diagnostic dowsing rod and a spanner that looks suspiciously like a wand.

All technology is sufficiently advanced enough to look like magic once we let go of the silly notion that we need to understand it. *grin*

Oh my, Computing Science recast as magic... but then, is there a real difference between these two?

i was not surprised by that at all. in fact, I knew that dark patch was meant for datsia ever since it got made. i WAS surprised that taneh had to trigger the spell hirself, rather than the spell being triggered automatically by datsia's proximity.

Well, you know, Aura kinda knew the score when she was commissioned to make em in the first place, so it's almost not a surprise!

Okay, so I was a bit surprised too. I mean, holy crap.
